WISSEN
WISSEN is the official association of the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department at Holy Grace Academy of Engineering. It is dedicated to providing a vibrant platform for students to enhance their technical expertise, cultivate their skills, and nurture their creativity in the ever-evolving field of computer science. The association seeks to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry demands, empowering students to stay ahead in a competitive technological landscape.
Through WISSEN, the department organizes a wide range of activities, including technical events, coding competitions, workshops, guest lectures, seminars, webinars, and hackathons. These events are carefully curated to introduce students to the latest industry trends, cutting-edge technologies, and practical applications of computer science concepts. Students are encouraged to participate, collaborate, and showcase their talents, which helps in fostering a spirit of innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving.

COMPUTER SCIENCE ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION
The inauguration of computer science association “ WISSEN” was held at Holy Grace Academy of Engineering on 17th June 2013. The ceremony was started with invocation to Lord Almighty. It was followed by Welcome address by Ms. Amitha Haridas, Secretary of Wissen. The ceremony was inaugurated by our chairman, Principal Dr. Thresiamma Philip, Head of the department Ms. Lisa Sanooj, & Chief Guest Mr. Nelvin Joseph by lighting the traditional lamp. The logo of the Wissen was inaugurated by the chief guest Mr. Nelvin Joseph, CEO of Artin Dynamics. Speeches were given by chairman, Principal & head of the Computer Science Department. Then was the most important event in the Agenda , talk by the chief guest. He stated the comments & views on the topic “ Why IT”. He also statedthe importance of such an association in the college and also appreciated our efforts to start the club. The agenda came to an end with the vote of thanks expressed by Ms.Anjali Nair, President of Wissen & finally the National Anthem.
TECH FEST
The technical festival name inauguration of computer science department was held at Holy Grace Academy of Engineering on 28th August 2013. The ceremony was attended by chairman, Principal Dr. Thresiamma Philip and other board members, Hod’s, teaching & non-teaching staff and students. The video releasing the name of the tech fest was shown and the brochures were handed over to Dr. Thresiamma Philip, Hod’s of all department, staff in charge on behalf of all the staff & chairperson. The program came to an end with the thanks giving speech.
TECHWIZZ 13’
The technical festival of computer science department was held at Holy Grace Academy of Engineering on 7th September 2013. The ceremony was attended by chairman, principal Dr. Thresiamma Philip, other board members, Hod’s, teaching & non-teaching staff and the students of Holy Grace Academy of Engineering. Ceremony began with an invocation to Lord Almighty and followed by lighting of the lamp. The welcome address was given by Ms. Arya Manoj. Then speeches were given by Chairman, Principal, Head of the department. The tech fest commenced with the quiz program which was then followed by bug me out and presentation which were conducted parallel. The final program in the list was treasure hunt. Food stalls were setup in the college campus and song dedication were also made. The prize distribution to all the winners of events were made. The vote of thanks was given by Ms. Anjali Nair to mark the end of the ceremony.

SEMINARS , WORKSHOPS & IN-HOUSE TRAINING
ORGANIZED IN THE DEPARTMENT
- Organized an in-house training for the semester 6 students of 2012-2016 batch of CSE in Android Application development by LCC, Cochin from January 2015’
- Organized a special lecture on the topic “Motivation, Psychology & Counseling” on 04.11.2015 by Ms. Beena Dharman, Psychologist & Counsellor.
- Organized an in-house training for the S6 students of 2013-2017 batch of CSE in Java Programming by Focus Info-Tech from January 2016’.
- Organized an Internship for the semester 2 students of 2015 batch for 5 days in C Programming at Cogniz InfoTech, Palarivattom from 25th July, 2016 to 29th July 2016.
- Organized a workshop on “Project Paves way to professionalism” for S3, S5 & S7 students of CSE on 11.08.2016.
- Organized Best Brain 2016 – IT Programming Contest for the students of S5 & S7 by Live wire on 26.08.2016 from which 11 students were selected to the second round.
- Organized an in-house training for the S5 students in PHP & Web development by Cognizant InfoTech from 10.08.2016 onwards.
